Passion for Planning: How I Stay Organized with my Passion Planner

First and foremost, Happy 2017! I wish nothing but the best to each person reading and hope you exceed in every resolution and intention you have set. A common resolution is to stay more organized with school and work and being able to balance it all. As a college student, I have struggled with staying organized and on top my schedule, especially as I became involved on campus. Between balancing being a full-time student, a part-time job, a CHAARG member, staying on top of my fitness, and making sure I have time to hangout with those I love the most, 24 hours in a day, isn’t enough time, but somehow I making it work. I accredit most of my time management to my Passion Planner.

If you know me in my personal life, you know I am OBSESSED with my passion planner. I identify with having a type A personality, as I am always planning, making lists, and tidying up. I stumbled upon the passion planner last year. I immediately ordered the 2016-2017 Academic Planner and I’ve been hooked on it ever since!

The main reason I love the passion planner is because it is very goal-oriented. The first few pages are Passion Roadmaps where you take the time to write down where you see yourself in three months, one year, three years, and a lifetime, and how you can make those goals. Simply writing this down, along with mediation and yoga, forces me to manifest them in my everyday life.

At the beginning of each month, there is a monthly calendar. I like to write the dates of exams and major due dates, bills, or any other important events. My favorite part of these pages are the “Not To-Do List.” I am often writing to-do lists and things I have to get done, so it is nice to reframe my focus and write down habits I am trying to cut.

The weekly layout is my absolute favorite. Each day is broken down into 30-minute time slots. Every Sunday, I sit down, usually at a coffee shop, and plan out my week. I write down every place and time I’m going to be from class, to when and where I am working out, work, and anything else going on during the week. This gives me a visual representation of where I am going to be and where I have free time, so I can pencil in time for myself, time at the library, and some time with my friends. I personally like to organize my activities by color coordination, with a color for each one of classes, CHAARG, work, working out, and any social activities.

My Passion Planner has become more than just a planner. I write my goals, the things I want to save money for, write memorable events, and even decorate it with stickers. I definitely wouldn’t know how I would keep my life together without it!
